Project Description

This project consists of the construction of a new four-story mixed-use development featuring 46 affordable housing apartments. All units are designated as affordable housing and will help expand housing opportunities within the community.

Developed in partnership with the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Barbara, the project is currently underway, with over-excavation recently completed as the team prepares for the next phase of construction. Completion is anticipated in fall 2027.

Aliso Kindergarten

Project Description

This project includes the construction of a new ground-up kindergarten building and associated site improvements for Carpinteria Unified School District.

Recent progress includes the completion of over-excavation activities, with the team now beginning work on the mat footing as construction moves into its next phase. Construction began in early 2026 and is anticipated to be completed in spring 2027.

Oak Dining Room at Ojai Valley Inn

Project Description

Our team removed a section of the roof, carefully dismantled the existing structural steel, and craned in a new moment frame to eliminate three interior columns that previously supported the space. This structural modification allowed for a fully open floor plan, creating a cleaner visual experience and greater flexibility within the dining room.

The work was completed in just over two weeks while the hotel was closed for its annual maintenance period. Each phase, from demolition and roof removal to structural steel installation and finish work, was tightly coordinated to meet the compressed schedule. The result is a refined dining space that feels expansive and intentional, with added flexibility to support a variety of uses beyond dining.

Ventura College STEM Building

This project involves the construction of a new modular STEM building along with associated site work. Located just a few blocks from our office, it’s especially meaningful to contribute to a project within our own community. Construction began in September 2025 and is expected to be completed by January 2026.

Project Description

This project consisted of the thoughtful renovation of the former Sur Le Table store located on State Street. We successfully converted the first floor into a commercial lease space, while the back portion of the building, along with the second floor, have been transformed into workforce housing. The development includes 14 well-designed studio apartments, with ten situated on the second floor and four on the first floor. Furthermore, the second floor is equipped with a community space intended to enhance the living experience for residents.

Construction is progressing steadily with the podium forecasted to be complete by the end of this month. The team is focused on meeting this milestone to keep the project on schedule.

Located on Garden Street in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara, 425 Garden provides 36 new residential units within walking distance of local businesses, services, and transit. The project required extensive coordination from start to finish due to the site’s limited footprint and its location along one of the city’s primary thoroughfares. Now complete, the development brings new housing opportunities to the area while contributing to the continued evolution of the downtown corridor.

Ventura County Fire Training Center

Project Description

This new facility supports advanced training for the Ventura County Fire Department. Developed in partnership with Ventura County Public Works, the site includes a 5,431 sq. ft. Class A Burn Building for wood-fueled fire drills, a 12,346 sq. ft. Class B Multipurpose Building with propane-fired props, and a steel structure over an existing bunker to support rooftop rescues and ladder training. Together, these structures create realistic, high-intensity scenarios to prepare first responders for the demands of the job.
